About Battkomp

Battkomp designs, produces, and repairs li-ion batteries in the 0.5 to 10 kWh range for mobility applications.

Design and production

Battkomp can produce batteries in any shape or size, complete with housing, safety systems, appropriate connectors, and communication systems to ensure complete compatibility with the host device.

  • Help your product development by providing custom batteries for prototypes

  • Give older battery-driven products a new life by converting from lead acid or NiMH to lithium

  • Provide replacement batteries for products where the OEM is no longer available

The battery production services are targeted towards customers who wish to order at least 5-10 batteries.

Repairs

No design is perfect, and no battery will last forever. We offer troubleshooting and scalable repair solutions for battery types failing prematurely, and rebuilds for worn out batteries.

We are battery repair service providers to Bolt, Buddy Electric, and Oslo Kommune, and we offer service and rebuilds on e-bike batteries to the general public.

Education

We are constantly employing interns and new graduates. By working with us, they get a unique hands-on experience, and a fast track to the best battery firms of Norway. At the same time, Battkomp gets access to curious, motivated, and talented minds.​

We work closely with universities and innovation clusters to push the limits on product life cycles, and are always happy to show our work to those interested.

We source the best cells from our partners, and cover the module assembly, housing, and battery management part of the value chain.

We have design, manufacturing, and maintenance in-house, with a core team of excellent engineers and advanced automated production facilities.

We want to run the whole business from Norway, betting on automation instead of cheap labour, quality over quantity, reliability over price, local over foreign.

Our insight is that EV waste could be drastically reduced if:

  • Product lives were extended through up-to-date batteries

  • Simple problems were cost-efficiently repaired

The bottlenecks are:

  • Lack of modern compatible batteries
  • Proprietary connectors, communication protocols, housing designs
  • Capable people

Our three business areas address these three bottlenecks.
